What do readers of this newsgroup think of it?
Real journalism. You report facts, record observations and statements,
and acknowledge uncertainties. All is organized into coherent
narrative.
I tried to ignore Casey Anthony trial because of media sensationalism.
Too much uncertainty yet people (Anthony supporters and opponents)
make up minds in advance, then fit whatever facts available to support
what is at best conjecture. Personally think that murder charges were
unwarranted. Yet defendant and family most certainly lied and covered
up what really happened (probably something less than murder but
deserving of punishment). But that is only my guess. Yet some were
ready to send her to the gallows and others to present her as victim.
Good journalist describes things as best he or she can, makes
reasonable conjectures if warranted, admits what is unknown, and keeps
mouth shut when appropriate. Keep writing. Thank you.
